Documentary "Patagonia Rising" to Premiere Thursday in Silver City

SILVER CITY - The documentary "Patagonia Rising," which talks about a controversial proposal to construct a major hydroelectric dam in the Patagonia region of Chile, will be shown Thursday night at the Silco Theater.

The New Mexico premiere of the one-hour film documentary will feature Jonathan Leidich, field producer of the film and leading opponent of the dams, as a guest speaker. Leidich, owner and outfitter of Patagonia Adventure Expeditions in Chile, was responsible for the field logistics associated with both the "Patagonia Rising" documentary and "Power in the Pristine," a shorter companion film to be featured Sept. 17 at the Gila River Festival...

NM Film Office – 2011 Fall Semester Internship Opportunity

 

Guidelines:

• Must be attending classes (part-time or full-time) at an accredited NM higher educational institution;
• Must be 18 years of age or older;
• Must obtain approval from higher educational intuition for hours of work and liability insurance – to be provided to the NM Film Office for the 2011 fall semester;
• Must be capable of working 10-15 hours per week.

 

Primary Duties:

• Front desk coverage / greeting visitors
• Answering main phone line and general e-mails
• Assisting with various administrative tasks (faxing, filing, copying, data entry, etc.)
• Assisting with website, staff requests, and general inquires

 

Applications are being accepted now and we are looking to fill spots in August.  Please e-mail resume and cover letter to trish@nmfilm.com for consideration.  Interviews will begin immediately and the application process will close on Friday, August 26^th. More specific details pertaining to each internship will be discussed during the interview process.
