Business and Community Development Calendar Launched

The New Mexico Economic Development Department (NMEDD) recently announced the public launch of the New Mexico Business and Community Development Calendar (http://edc, an interactive online calendar of economic and community development events. The calendar is geared toward business owners, academics and economic and development professionals and will serve as a single reference source for business, educational and training activities across the state.

A strategic initiative of NMEDD, the New Mexico Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network and the New Mexico Finance Authority (NMFA), the calendar was developed and is hosted by New Mexico Community Capital (NMCC). Businesses, associations and other organizations may set up free accounts for posting their events. Everyone, from employees to consultants to community leaders, can browse these events by industry, region and date, and can be directed to links for sign-up information.

"New Mexico's economic development professionals in the public, private and nonprofit sectors will benefit enormously from a single clearinghouse of economic and community development-related events - from seminars and conferences, to town hall meetings and formalized trainings," said NMEDD Cabinet Secretary Designate Fred Mondragon. "The New Mexico Business Calendar is the first tool anyone interested in growing New Mexico's economy should reach for."

"The New Mexico Business Calendar provides a much-needed, content-rich way to access statewide information in an easily accessible format," said William Sisneros, CEO of NMFA. "Anyone can create an account and add events and job postings, subscribe to RSS feeds, or just browse at their leisure. It is a great one-stop business resource."
