Media Industries people and companies recognized at NM Tech Excellence Awards


NMTC Technology Excellence Awards


This year's New Mexico Technology Council's Tech Excellence Awards recognized several key people and companies working in our media industries community for work done in the latter half of 2007 and 2008 at their award ceremony last Thursday night.

Among those recognized were:

Industry Achievement Awards:

UNM ARTS Lab's David Beining was recognized for his work in building and expanding DomeFest, whose juried show now plays at fulldome venues throughout the world. DomeFest returns to Albuquerque this summer (July 16 -18th).

Redfish' Stephen Guerin was recognized for his work in building the Santa Fe Complex, a collaborative project incubator space in Santa Fe that's been hosting many great events.

Technology Excellence Solution Awards:

Game Production Services was honored for its development of a Cognitive Air Defense Training System.

Ideum was recognized for development of its MT2 Multitouch, Multiuser Table

The State of New Mexico and its partners were recognized for development of Encanto, the NM Computing Applications Center.

This year's "Marc Orchant Maximum Impact Award was given to TVC's Sherman McCorkle.

There are quite a few other winners and honorable mentions (visit http://www.nmtechcouncil.org for more info), but as media involves more and more technology, it's important to see that there are world-class people and companies doing ork here in New Mexico.
