Two new TV shows are coming to New Mexico that could mean some big exposure for the state.
By the end of the month, the show "The Odds" will start shooting in and around Albuquerque. "The Odds" is a pilot for a show that stars Donald Faison, who's best known as Dr. Turk from the show "Scrubs" and who was also in the "Clueless" TV show. The show is set in Las Vegas, Nev., and Faison plays a cop who lives the Vegas high life.
ABC has ordered eight episodes of the new show "Scoundrels," which will film at Albuquerque Studios starting this week. The show will star Oscar-nominated actress Virginia Madsen as the matriarch of a family of criminals trying to go straight. The show is based on the long-running Australian show "Outrageous Fortune." Madsen is no stranger to New Mexico. She filmed "The Astronaut Farmer" here and nearly 15 years ago was a guest star in the first TV series shot in the state, "Earth 2."
The show is expected to be a summer series on ABC....
